Jason Momoa has given us a look at his new Stealth Suit in ‘Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom’

On Instagram, Jason Momoa posted an image of his new superhero costume for Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom.

Posted back-to-back with a picture of his iconic orange and green armor, Momoa’s caption read, “Second round. New suit. More action.”

According to Aquaman 2 director James Wan, the stealth suit is “Atlantean tech based on cephalopod’s camouflaging ability.” Wan said that he and screenplay writer David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick were inspired to create the new dark suit from Aquaman’s blue suit in the ‘80s comics.

The blue costume was designed by Neal Pozner in his 1986 Aquaman four-issue miniseries. One of Pozner’s other accomplishments was incorporating DC comics characters into AIDS awareness ads published in the company’s comics. Pozner later died due to complications with AIDS and was honored by Phil Jimenez in the DC comic Tempest.

Speculation aside, it is unclear as of now why Aquaman will need his stealth suit in the sequel. But, there will be a behind-the-scenes look at Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom at DC FanDome on Oct. 16 that may provide some answers.
