‘The Last of Us’ Takes On Intense New Trailer

HBO Max’s The Last of Us series has received a new action-packed and emotional trailer.

The series will follow Joel (Pedro Pascal) protecting the young Ellie (Bella Ramsey) as they journey through a zombie-infested post-apocalyptic America.

The Last of Us series is being created by Neil Druckmann, writer of The Last of Us game, and Craig Mazin, creator of Chernobyl (2019).

The trailer revealed a surprise for fans of The Last of Us game with the appearance of Troy Baker as one of David’s men (1:54 mark) and Ashley Johnson as Ellie’s mother (1:33 mark). Baker voiced Joel and Johnson voiced Ellie in the game. Additionally, the trailer played an eerie version of A-Ha’s “Take On Me,” referencing Ellie playing the same song on her guitar in The Last of Us Part 2 videogame.

The Last of Us will have ten episodes and premiere on Jan. 15 on HBO Max.
