Quantum of Solace – 3 ½ / 4 stars

Released November 14, 2008, Quantum of Solace was directed by Marc Forster and picks up right where Casino Royale left off. . By looking for those who blackmailed Vesper, Bond finds himself teamed up with Camille (Olga Kurylenko) trying to stop Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric) and the organization Quantum from taking control of a Bolivian desert to control water as a limited resource.

I would rate this movie 3 ½ out of 4 stars. I wasn’t nearly as impressed with this movie as I was with Casino Royale. I thought the action was too quick and difficult to follow. I also found the story hard to follow and not as strong as the first movie. Maybe I’m just not a fan of the directorial style. Even still, it was cool seeing Bond’s next mission and learn more about why Vesper betrayed him in the previous movie. It was also nice to see the familiar faces of M (Judi Dench), Mathis (Giancarlo Giannini) and CIA agent Felix (Jeffrey Wright). I had never seen this movie before, so I was glad I watched it, but I’m more excited to see what happens next. Stay tuned for Skyfall next week.
