Ted Lasso season 2 official trailer and release date

Apple TV released an official trailer for season 2 of Ted Lasso with the caption “kindness is making a comeback.”

The series follows American college football coach Ted Lasso who is recruited to coach AFC Richmond, an English Premier League football team, even though he has no experience with the sport. Season 2 will revolve around Coach Lasso who, after a streak of bad luck and eight tied games, must rally the discouraged Richmond team into believing in themselves again.

The trailer also featured a Sports Psychologist evaluating the team and some new orange uniforms in place of the well-known blue and red ones.

Ted Lasso first premiered on Apple TV+ August 14, 2020, and was renewed for a second season five days after its initial release. It was then renewed for a third season in Oct. 2020.

Lead actor Jason Sudeikis won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – musical or comedy – for his portrayal of Lasso in season 1. 

The character of Ted Lasso was debuted by Sudeikis in 2013 to promote NBC Sports’ coverage of the Premier League.
