New ‘Finch’ trailer has Tom Hanks, a robot and a dog up against the world

After a devastating solar flare, Finch (Tom Hanks), a dying inventor, creates a robot (Caleb Landry Jones) to keep himself and his dog company as they travel across the country in a post-apocalyptic world.

Check out the trailer below.

In the trailer, Finch attempts to teach the robot to walk, drive and most importantly to remember that “robot must protect dog,” as they head for the safety of the mountains.

Finch is directed by Miguel Sapochnik, who directed Game of Thrones episodes such as Hardhome, Battle of the Bastards, and the Winds of Winter. He has also directed episodes of Banshee, House, and True Detective. The movie was written by Craig Luck and Ivor Powell.

Originally, the film was titled BIOS and was scheduled to be released Oct. 2020. Due to the pandemic and several delays, Universal Pictures sold the rights to Apple TV+ and the film was renamed Finch after the protagonist.

Finch will be available to stream Nov. 5 on Apple TV+.
