Destiny 2 Guardian Games Returns

Destiny 2’s Guardian Games returns bringing back the competition between the Hunter, Titan and Warlock classes.

The Guardian Games is a class-based event where you can do in-game activities for medals and turn them into the Tower podium. Whichever class you choose to contribute to will have their score increased and their banner will raise, the highest banner indicating which class is leading the competition.

(As of now, it looks like Hunters are in the lead. Go Hunters!)

As part of the event, players wearing their Guardian Games class item (which is 1250 power) will be able to collect laurels dropped from enemies in all activities, except Crucible and Gambit where they will be rewarded at the end of the match. These laurels can be used to purchase additional bounties, Contender Cards and additional items from Eva Levante.

Contender Cards award varying medals based on the difficulty of the activity. Nightfall and Trials of the Nine Contender Cards award platinum medals to deposit to the podium, while Strikes, Gambit and Crucible award gold medals.

The loot that can be purchased from Eva with laurels includes three exotic ghost shells: the Rival Titan Shell, the Rival Hunter Shell and the Rival Warlock Shell. The Color of Speed, a new exotic sparrow, can be earned by collecting class points and completing triumphs. For players who do not already own it, there is a quest to complete for the Heir Apparent exotic machine gun. For those who do already have it in their collections, there is a chance of earning the Heir Apparent exotic catalyst for each gold and platinum trophy banked.

Additionally, players can earn a new class item, two emblems and two shaders by completing triumphs. And Eververse has a new universal ornament armor set for each of the three classes with glowing class items to show your pride.

The event launched April 20 and will take place through May 11, the winning class getting not only bragging rights but a victorious statue that will be placed in the Tower for the next year. Last year the Titans won, but it remains to be seen which class will win the 2021 Guardian Games. Gear up, Guardian. It’s time to show the other two who the best class is.
