Disney + Day: Announcements and First Looks for 2022

Streaming Nov. 12 on Disney + is Jungle Cruise, Enchanted, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Home Sweet Home Alone. These titles are now available to stream for all subscribers.

The world of Ice Age is making its return with a new Disney + original movie, The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild. The movie will follow the possum brothers, Crash and Eddie, as they embark on an adventure and team up with the one-eyed weasel Buck Wild (Simon Pegg) to survive The Lost World. The movie will be available to stream on Disney + Jan. 28. Check out the teaser below.

From the director of Big Hero 6 comes the new original Disney + series, Baymax! The series will follow everyone’s favorite personal healthcare companion as he helps the citizens of San Fransokyo one at a time. The series airs Summer 2022 on Disney +. Check out the trailer below.

A reboot of Cheaper By The Dozen will be available to stream on Disney Plus March 2022. The movie will star Zachary Braff and Gabrielle Union and will act as “an update on the classic comedy centered around a multi-racial, blended family of 12 navigating a hectic homelife while managing their family business,” Union said.

The sequel to 2007’s Enchanted, Disenchanted, will be available to stream on Disney + Fall 2022. The movie will take place ten years later where Giselle (Amy Adams) begins to question her happiness.

The new animated Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie is coming to Disney + Dec. 3. Also announced is the sequel, Rodrick Rules, coming to Disney + soon. Check out the trailer below.

John Mulaney and Andy Samberg are starring in, not a reboot, but a comeback of animated chipmunks Chip ‘n Dale in Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers. The live-action original movie will be streamable on Disney + Spring 2022.

A sequel to 1993’s Hocus Pocus, Hocus Pocus 2, will be released on Disney Plus Fall 2022, just in time for next Halloween. The movie will follow three young women in modern day Salem who accidentally bring back the Sanderson Sisters and must find a way to stop them.

Disney Plus also announced a live-action retelling of Pinocchio directed by Robert Zemekis. The movie will star Tom Hanks, Cynthia Erivo, Luke Evans, and the voices of Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Keegan-Michael Key and Lorraine Bracco. Pinocchio will be released on Disney Plus Fall 2022.

National Geographic has a new original series Limitless with Chris Hemsworth, which will follow the actor as he attempts to push the boundaries of human potential. The series will be available to stream on Disney + in 2022. Check out the trailer below.

An original series based on the best-selling books, The Spiderwick Chronicles, is in development with Disney +. While there is no release date yet, Disney + released a few images to give a first look.

For almost 25 years, the world has been without X-Men: The Animated Series. But Marvel Studios is creating X-Men ‘97, a new animated original series, coming to Disney + in 2023.

Owen Wilson returns to voice Lightning McQueen and Larry the Cable Guy returns as Mater in the Disney + original series, Cars On The Road, available to stream in 2022. The series will follow the two cars going on a road trip and meeting old and new characters.

Win or Lose is a new animated series coming to Disney + in 2023. The series follows a middle school softball team the week before the championship game, with each episode being told from the perspective of a different player.

Revisit the world of Zootopia in Zootopia+, a new short-form series available to stream on Disney + in 2023.

Disney + released a first look at Tiana, a new long-form musical series following the newly crowned Princess of Maldonia running from her past in New Orleans.

Intertwined is a new Disney + original series following Allegra, a young girl who wants to follow in her grandmother’s footsteps with the musical theater company. But when she travels back in time to 1994, she learns the truth about her mother and grandmother’s past. The series is available to stream on Disney + Day, Nov. 12.
