Disney+ released trailer for ‘Home Alone’ reboot ‘Home Sweet Home Alone’

Disney+ has released a trailer for the Home Alone reboot, Home Sweet Home Alone.

Similar to the original, the movie follows Max Mercer, played by Archie Yates (Jojo Rabbit), who, when his family takes a Christmas vacation to Tokyo, is left home alone. While at first, Max is having the time of his life, everything changes when he discovers a married couple attempting to rob his house. He then makes it his mission to defend his home with a wide variety of home-made booby traps.

Alongside Yates, the film will star Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney, Aisling Bea, Pete Holmes, Kenan Thompson, Timothy Simons and Ally Maki. In addition, Macaulay Culkin and Devin Ratray will reprise their roles as Kevin and Buzz McCallister from Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York and make cameo appearances in the reboot.

Home Sweet Home Alone is directed by Dan Mazer (Dirty Grandpa, Borat) and is co-written by Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell, who worked together previously on Saturday Night Live. The movie, acting as the sixth addition to the Home Alone series, is produced by 20th Century Studios and will be their first movie released on a streaming platform.


Home Sweet Home Alone will be released exclusively on Disney+ Nov. 12.
