First look at ‘Halo’ TV series with a battle-scared Master Chief suiting up

A first look at the upcoming Paramount + original series, Halo, was revealed at Microsoft’s 20th anniversary Xbox event. In it, we see a battle-scarred Master Chief suiting up in his Spartan armor and greeted by Cortana.

The TV series is based on the best-selling video game franchise of the same name and will follow a war in the 26th-century between the United Nations Space Command and the alien race, The Covenant.

Check out the teaser below.

The series will star Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief, the super soldier and protagonist of the Halo games. Alongside him will be Natascha McElhone, Yerin Ha, Charlie Murphy, Shabana Azmi, Bokeem Woodbine, Olive Gray, Kate Kennedy, Natasha Culzac, Bentley Kalu and Danny Sapani. Jen Taylor will be reprising her role voicing Cortana, having played the character since Halo: Combat Evolved in 2001.

The series has struggled to get off the ground, initially being planned to release in 2015 with Steven Spielberg attached as producer. This later changed to a 2019 release with Rupert Wyatt producing, then to 2020, and finally to 2022 with Otto Bathurst producing. The series is being developed by Steven Kane (The Last Ship, The Closer) and Kyle Killen (Mind Games, Fear Street: Part One – 1994).

Halo will be streamable on Paramount + in 2022. Additionally, the Halo: Infinite multiplayer had a surprise release on Nov. 15, giving players a chance to explore the game’s mechanics before the campaign is released on Dec. 8.
