‘Friends’ Reunion streaming May 27 on HBO Max

Oh. My. God. After being on a break for 17 years, the cast of Friends is coming back together for a reunion episode.

The Friends cast, including Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, is returning to Stage 24 of the Warner Bros. Studio in Burbank. The teaser released for the reunion showed the backs of the six actors walking together down the studio lot to an instrumental version of the show’s theme song “I’ll be there for you,” by the Rembrandts.

Sticking to the episodic theme since the start of the show, the reunion is titled “The One Where They Get Back Together.”

In an interview on the Graham Norton show, David Schwimmer said that the actors will be returning as themselves, not their characters.

“There’s nothing scripted,” Schwimmer said. “We’re not in character. We’re all ourselves.”

According to HBO Max, this will be the first time since the show ended that the entire cast will be back together, and they will revisit the set to reminisce.

In addition to the original cast, the reunion will have special guest stars including David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Cordon, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga,  Elliot Gould, Kit Harington, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Tom Selleck, Reese Witherspoon and Malala Yousafzai.

Originally premiering in 1994, Friends followed the lives of six 20-somethings living in Manhattan. And after 10 years, 10 seasons and 236 episodes, it remains one of the most popular sitcoms in the world.

The Friends reunion will be available to stream May 27, exclusively on HBO Max.
