Introduction

Hi there, I’m Dalton Marshall and I’m currently studying journalism and mass communication at Texas State. Ever since I can remember, I have been a big movie fan, starting with Dinosaur, the first movie I saw at the theater. I am also named after Patrick Swayze’s character, Dalton, in the movie Road House. Given that there are so many great movies to see, old and new, my Dad and I made a New Years Resolution this year to watch one movie every weekend. We are sticking to that pretty well so far and I thought I’d make the focus of this blog on and review them.

With this blog, I will cover movies that I enjoy or recently watched and share my thoughts about what I liked or disliked about them. I’m hoping to explore movies in depth and inform other movie lovers out there about old or new movies worth checking out. I also hope to find new movies worth watching that I have yet to see. I mostly enjoy action, adventure, sci-fi and fantasy movies, so those genres will be most likely to pop up. Occasionally, you may see some comedy movies, but you will probably never see any horror movies reviewed here because I don’t enjoy jump scares and the stories are usually pretty lame.

Movies have always been a big part of my life. I just love the stories they tell and experiencing them with other people. I have some experience writing movie reviews for newspaper in high school but not much else beyond that.  I’m hoping that this blog will increase my knowledge and writing ability for reviews and other areas as well. I have also never written a blog before so this will be a new experience for me, but if you’re reading, I want to thank you for being along for the ride.
