PlayStation announced free 6-month trial for Apple TV+ for PS5 along with exclusive new look at ‘Foundation’

PlayStation released two minutes of footage from the upcoming Foundation TV series, along with the announcement of a free six month trial of Apple TV+ for PS5 users.

Foundation is based on Isaac Asimov’s book series of the same name and follows the thousand-year saga of a band of exiles who must defy the Galactic Empire in order to save it.

The series stars Jared Harris (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows) as Hari Seldon, Lou Llobell (Voyagers) as Gaal Dornick and Lee Pace (Guardians of the Galaxy) as Brother Day. It features David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight, Blade, Man of Steel) as writer, showrunner and executive producer.

While the first season will have ten episodes, the creators are planning on continuing the series to capture Asimov’s full story. Goyer praised recent novelization adaptations, such as Game of Thrones, for maturing and changing the way audiences consume media.

“For the first time, we weren’t talking about having to condense everything – in success, we were talking about the possibility of being able to expand,” Goyer said in an interview with PlayStation.

According to Goyer, the current plan is for the entire series to be 70 to 80 episodes, allowing for plenty of time to build up emotion and “really dig into the characters.”

Foundation will premiere its first two episodes Sep. 24 on Apple TV+. Check here to find out how to redeem your six month free trial of Apple TV + on your PS5.
