‘Sherlock Holmes Chapter One’ game features origin of the famous detective this November

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One is an upcoming open world story-driven mystery game that will act as an origin for the world-renowned detective. The story will follow a young Sherlock Holmes as he investigates a mystery on the exotic Mediterranean island of Cordona following his mother’s death.

The game is being developed by Frogwares, known for their work on The Sinking City, Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter and Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments. Chapter One is also the first game in the Sherlock Holmes series that Frogwares is self-publishing.

Because the game occurs early on in Sherlock’s career, players will be met with a young and cocky detective eager to prove himself. The game will also be absent of Holmes’ favorite partner Watson, instead introducing one of Sherlock’s old friends, Jonathan.

According to Frogwares, the game consists of five main quests interconnected to tell a continuous story, in addition to over 30 side quests. The main story would take an estimated 12 to 15 hours to beat, and it would take 40 to 50 hours to complete the entire game. Both the main quests and side quests will have different outcomes based on the player’s deductive skills and morality choice, with several different endings to the entire game.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One will release Nov. 16 on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, with a planned release for the PS4 at a later date. Check out the trailer for the game below.
