Shocking first look at the opening scene of ‘Black Adam’ from DC FanDome 2021

Warner Bros. Pictures revealed a first look of Black Adam at the 2021 DC FanDome.

The teaser gives a glimpse of one of the movie’s opening scenes where Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam is first revealed. Check it out below.

Black Adam was a warrior in ancient Egypt who was chosen by the wizard Shazam to be gifted the power of the gods, including super strength, speed, invulnerability, flight, and the ability to shoot lightning from his hands. He proved unworthy of this power and became the arch-nemesis of Captain Marvel/Shazam. The character first appeared in the first issue of The Marvel Family in 1945 and was meant to have only a one-time appearance, but was revived as a recurring villain of Shazam during the ‘70s.

The movie is a spin-off of Shazam! and, while Johnson was originally set to appear as Black Adam in the 2019 movie, it was decided that his character would instead get his own origin film. Johnson has been attached to the role of Black Adam since 2014 and has expressed interest in the character as early as 2007, when he was first approached for the role.

Alongside Johnson, the film will star Pierce Bronsnan as Dr. Fate, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone and Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher.

As of now, the movie has finished filming and is entering the early stages of post-production. Black Adam is scheduled to release July 29, 2022 in theaters.
