Snake Eyes’ action-packed trailer to launch G.I. Joe reboot

Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for the G.I. Joe Origins movie, Snake Eyes.

The film will follow a lone fighter who, after saving the heir of the Japanese Arashikage clan, is welcomed into the fold and taught the ancient ways of the ninja. But when secrets from his past are revealed, his loyalties are tested and will put him on the path to become the mysterious hero known as “Snake Eyes.”

Henry Golding, who will play the titular role, is known for Crazy Rich Asians, The Gentlemen and Last Christmas. The film also stars Andrew Koji as Storm Shadow, Samara Weaving as Scarlett, Úrsula Corberó as The Baroness, Haruka Abe as Akiko, Takehiro Hira as Kenta and Iko Uwais as the Hard Master.

Those who saw G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra got a glimpse of Snake Eyes origin story, and the events that led to him and his brother Storm Shadow becoming rivals. This movie will act as a reboot to the G.I. Joe series, unconnected to The Rise of Cobra and Retaliation.

It is directed by Robert Schwentke (RED, The Captain) and written by Evan Spiliotopoulos (Beauty and the Beast, The Huntsman: Winter’s War).
