Star Wars: The Bad Batch will arrive May 4 on Disney Plus

The new Star Wars original series, The Bad Batch was announced to release May 4 on Disney Plus, along with the first offical trailer dropping. 

The series will follow Clone Force 99, a squad of five enhanced clones more capable than an army. The squad is Hunter, Echo, Tech, Wrecker and Crosshair, and given their disobedience of orders, they are also known as The Bad Batch.

The trailer also featured appearances of Grand Moff Tarkin, Fennec Shand (voiced by Ming-Na Wen) and Rex.

The show will follow the events of The Clone Wars series after Order 66 and the Rise of the Empire. It was also announced that the premiere will have a runtime of 70 minutes.

After The Mandalorian, this will be the second Star Wars show to premiere on Disney Plus. To be followed by The Book of Boba Fett, following Boba Fett and Fennec Shand after the events in season 2 of The Mandalorian, coming this December.
