‘Uncharted’ makes the leap from PlayStation to the big screen

Sony Pictures Entertainment has released the first trailer for Uncharted, the live-action movie adaptation of the critically acclaimed video game.

Uncharted will act as a prequel to the game series and follow a younger Nathan Drake who meets Sully and embarks on his first treasure-hunting adventure.

Check out the trailer below.

The movie stars Tom Holland as Nathan Drake, Mark Wahlberg as Sully and Sophia Ali as Chloe Frazer. Opposing them will be Antonio Banderas as an unnamed treasure hunter and Tati Gabrielle as his sidekick, Braddock. It will be directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Venom) and will be co-written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, who have previously written together on Iron Man, Transformers: The Last Knight and Men In Black: International

The Uncharted game series was developed by Naughty Dog and, even being exclusive to PlayStation, is one of the best-selling series of all time having sold over 44 million copies. Similar to Indiana Jones, Nathan travels the world in search of obscure and hidden treasure. Although, his intentions may not be as pure. The movie has been in development since 2008 and went through a whirlwind of complications before settling on making it an origin story for the franchise.

Uncharted will be released in theaters February 18.
