Will Poulter cast as Adam Warlock in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’

Will Poulter will be joining the crew in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as Adam Warlock, according to Deadline.

Poulter is known for his roles in The Revenant, The Maze Runner and We’re The Millers.

The character was teased in a post-credit scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 when the golden girl herself, Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki), possessed an advanced birthing pod to create something “more powerful. More beautiful. More capable of destroying the Guardians of the Galaxy.” And his name is Adam.

Adam Warlock made his first minor appearance in Sep. 1967 in Fantastic Four #66 and was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The character, originally referred to as “Him,” was significantly revamped in 1972 by Roy Thomas and Jim Starlin to be a messiah-like being who can manipulate cosmic energy, has super strength, speed, healing, flight and can shoot blasts of energy from his hands.

Given that he is one of director James Gunn’s favorite characters, an Easter egg was included in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 that resembled the cocoon that created Warlock among the items in the Collector’s museum.

While further details of the movie are being kept under wraps, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is scheduled to release May 5, 2023.
